A Ghanaian mineral exporter is calling for effective collaboration between the Minerals Commission of Ghana and foreign gold licensing regulators to expedite gold exportation.

Chief Executive Officer of Excellence Grade Mineral Enterprise, Job Osei Tutu, says the bureaucratic processes in securing an operational license locally are adversely affecting the mineral exporting industry.

He believes a robust partnership would facilitate the easy and internationally-friendly export of gold.

“Insurance companies in this country should liaise with the foreign ones so they can ease the partnership between us, the exporters and the foreigners. Generally, local insurance companies have difficulties insuring the precious mineral commodities due to the huge sum of money involved,” he said.

Owing to this challenge, a number of licensed gold traders are faced with inadequate foreign partnerships for business transactions.

The Ghanaian entrepreneur, as part of efforts to boost the local economy, seeks strategic local and international partners involved in gold trading.
